How to determine the width of a vehicle when overtaking? Just master these few tricks and you won't have to worry about getting stuck in a ditch anymore.

As the saying goes: In a narrow passage, the brave prevail. However, for ordinary drivers who are on the road every day, when encountering situations such as overtaking on narrow roads, it is not a simple "narrow" versus "narrow" battle. The kind of driving behavior that requires demonstrating driving skills, like "just closing and opening your eyes and passing by", should definitely not be adopted.
"I should be able to make it there."
"I just don't believe I can't make it through!"
……
And then, there was no "then" anymore...
Indeed, after all, if one attempts to overtake or pass another vehicle by relying on sheer strength or the desire to do it quickly, it would be considered lucky if the vehicle can pass. But if it accidentally bumps or scratches the other vehicle, both your car and the other driver's car will inevitably have to bear some responsibility, and there will surely be a lot of trouble.
In real life, when vehicles are passing each other on narrow roads or when driving through sections with width restrictions, due to incorrect judgment of vehicle width and road width, the vehicles may end up in "ditches", resulting in traffic accidents. Such cases are countless!
So, when the driver passes through the road with a narrow width, what method should they adopt?
Tip 1: Make a judgment based on the position of the revolver.
Generally speaking, when drivers are meeting each other in a narrow road or when driving on single-lane sections that are difficult to pass through (such as in fields), they can mainly determine the position of the entire vehicle by observing the approximate position of the left front wheel. At the same time, they can constantly make small adjustments to the direction using the steering wheel. This effectively ensures that during the turn, there will be no excessive turning. However, it is particularly important to note that many people simply think that as long as they control the front wheels well and once the front wheels pass by the other vehicle, it will be easy to turn the steering wheel. But in fact, this operation is the most likely to cause scratches. Therefore, when meeting, it is necessary to ensure that the rear wheels have also passed before performing the turning operation.
Tip 2: Determine it by the position of the windshield wipers
As we all know, the windshield wipers and our car wheels are in a horizontal position. Generally, the 20 centimeters on either side of the wipers corresponds to the position of the car wheels. By using this method of judgment, we can accurately determine the position of the wheels.
Trick 3: Other passengers in the vehicle can assist in making the judgment.
As the saying goes, "A good man needs two helpers." When passing through some special sections, if there are other passengers in the vehicle, the owner can ask the other members in the vehicle for help. They can get out of the vehicle and use gestures and simplified Chinese to remind the owner to make left turns, right turns, move forward, etc.
But it must be said that the several tips mentioned above still have a considerable degree of subjectivity. Even if there are other passengers in the vehicle, the control of the vehicle still largely depends on the owner: tension, sweaty palms, a slight tremor of the hand on the steering wheel causing excessive turning, getting too close to the oncoming vehicle will result in scraping or bumping into other vehicles, getting too far will cause collision or even skidding off the opposite side of the road cliff, or even overturning into the field. It's truly neither far nor near!
And the main culprit behind all this, without a doubt, is that damned inherent blind spot of vehicles. The driver simply cannot control the distance between their vehicle and other obstacles! The more complex and narrow the road conditions are, the more everything can go wrong.
